Share Your Story
Our net4tec member shares her very personal story with us. As part of the “Share your Story” section, net4tec calls on its members, women and men from the technology industry, to do the same and become visible to the community. Let’s read what she shares with us.
Tell us about your early years and where you came from?
Hi everyone! I’m Sruthi Ravuru Kondiparthy, a Software Engineer originally from India and living in Germany for the past 14 years.
I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science and worked for over 7 years in India as a Software Engineer with companies like Motorola and Convergys, mainly in the telecom and networking domain with technologies such as C++, SQL, and Linux.
Germany has been home since 2011, and it’s where both my personal journey and professional growth continue to evolve. I’m excited to join the net4tec community and connect with like-minded women in tech!
Walk me through your work and what you are doing now in the Technology world
What part of what you do, you love the most?
The part I love the most is explaining — whether it’s my work, my ideas, or a concept someone is struggling with. I genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge, encouraging others, and helping people understand things more clearly.
I’m always excited to break things down, discuss possibilities, and learn together. And yes… I know sometimes I go a bit overboard and might bore the other person :)) — but that enthusiasm comes from loving what I do and loving the connection with like-minded people.
Being in environments where people exchange ideas, support each other, and grow together truly energises me.
What apps/software/tools can't you live without?
1. ChatGPT – for idea validation & quick problem-solving
I use it constantly to brainstorm, clarify concepts, validate ideas, and get unstuck when coding or planning projects. It’s like having a thinking partner on demand.
2. VS Code & GitHub – my daily tech workspace
VS Code is where I experiment, prototype, and practice coding in any language. GitHub helps me track my learning, organise personal projects, and keep everything version-controlled.
3. Google Workspace & WhatsApp – for staying organised & connected
Google Workspace keeps all my documents, notes, and planning structured, while WhatsApp helps me stay connected with groups, communities, and family throughout the day.
Outside of work, I also use Instagram and YouTube for news, inspiration, and learning; Amazon for everyday needs; and Slack to jot down ideas.
What's the best advice you've ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received came from my father, and it has shaped my entire journey — both personally and professionally:
“Love your work. Learning is constant. Practice makes you perfect.”
These simple lines stayed with me since childhood, and I’ve followed them throughout my life. Whenever I dedicated myself to learning or practiced something consistently, the results were always beyond what I expected.
This mindset helped me navigate career transitions, adapt to new countries and cultures, and continuously upskill myself, even during breaks. It’s the foundation of my resilience, curiosity, and growth mindset.
