Welcome to our 60-minute “Grow to Lead” session with the net4tec community!

Companies today understand the strategic importance of having a diverse and inclusive workforce where all employees feel they belong and are valued. But after decades of trying to change, we still see daily stories across all sectors of egregious behaviours affecting company performance and reputations. In this interactive session, Gary will discuss what he has discovered when talking to thousands of men and women about gender equality. He will discuss why this should matter to everyone (including men), what’s in it for them and provide practical tips on how everyone can create a more inclusive workplace.

Why we need to change our strategy when it comes to building inclusive workplace culture. We will look at the multi-decade journey we have been on and why progress is slowing down, why it matters and what we can do about it. We will explore the career barriers that many under-represented groups still face and how we can help leaders and those in the majority groups become passionate advocates for changing workplace cultures and small practical ways we can all be better colleagues.

About the Speaker

Gary Ford worked as a technologist within Financial Services for over 35 years. He was a Managing Director at JPMorgan where he co-founded their male allies programme for Women in Technology. The programme was rolled out to thousands of men globally and was ultimately launched across the whole firm.

In 2020, he co-authored his first book, ‘The Accidental Sexist: A Handbook for Men on Workplace Diversity and Inclusion’ (Rethink Press), showcasing his commitment to fostering inclusivity in workplaces.

He co-founded Men for Inclusion in 2021 in response to his frustration with the slow progress on inclusion across all industries. The mission: to empower men in majority groups to champion inclusion for social and economic benefits. He has shared his expert insights to audiences across a wide range of events including:
