„Personal Branding – LinkedIn versus Clubhouse”

Situation/Introduction

Personal Branding is one of those buzzwords that makes many people’s hair stand on end. Some say it’s only for self-promoters, others clearly say personal branding is a must-have in today’s business and professional world. I think the truth lies somewhere in between, because it has a lot to do with what your goals are for your professional life. It is important that you really ask yourself what you stand for or what you want to be known for? Once this question has been answered, you should think about who your target group is, i.e. who you want to reach.

And on this basis you decide which channels you should use for personal branding. LinkedIn is always a good idea as the number one business platform. But recently Clubhouse has been vying for our attention. So we take a look at how you can lay the foundation for your personal branding on LinkedIn and build on that foundation through Clubhouse Talks.

Personal branding is a must-have, not a nice-to-have.

When I Google you, the Google results are the first impression I get of you. Therefore, it is important that you address your digital footprint.

The question of platform is important, but more important is the question of why you want to do personal branding in the first place.

About the speaker

Christina Richter is a personal branding and communications strategist based in Berlin. After ten years in agencies, medium-sized businesses and large corporations in the areas of PR, corporate communications and social media, she has been advising companies and entrepreneurs from all over the world since 2015. Her passion has always been storytelling, especially stories about people. With this in mind, she has made personal branding the focus of her work and supports companies in the (further) development of their corporate influencer strategy and individuals in how they can become visible as thought leaders in their specific field. Her focus is on helping people to integrate personal branding as a communication tool in their professional life without having to spend the whole day on content creation and posting on social media channels.

While working for a Chinese company, Christina Richter gained deep insights into China’s digital economy. On this topic, she wrote the non-fiction book “Digital China: Basic Knowledge and Inspiration for Your Business Success in the Middle Kingdom”. With this book, Christina Richter wants to create more understanding for what is probably the most digital society in the world. Her second book “E-Commerce Trends in China – Social Commerce, Live Streaming or New Retail” will be published this spring. Christina Richter is also co-author of the Spiegel bestseller “Future Republic”.

Christina Richter has a master’s degree in international information management with a focus on intercultural communication.

„You don´’t have to make every mistake by yourself – learn from the experienced ones”

Situation/Introduction

In our 20s we are still full of energy and verve and want to change the world. We are in the revolutionary phase and think anything is possible and “the sky is the limit” and that’s a good thing because I don’t want to discourage anyone here.

Unfortunately, we women learn over time that the world out there does not welcome us with open arms and unfortunately there are still obstacles put in our way.

Of course we all have to make our own mistakes, we have to be brave and try things out, but we don’t have to make every mistake ourselves and sometimes it would be wiser to get advice from “experienced people”, especially women from your network, friends and acquaintances.

  • important here is networking, mentoring programs and professional support, because it is okay to take a shortcut
  • but you can’t take a shortcut in personal development and learning new skills, that takes time
  • define your goal and make a “battle” plan

A life dedicated to spaceflight- fascinated by the Moon landing in 1969, the then four-year-old Claudia decides that one day she too will fly into space!

Claudia is an entrepreneur and visionary. She founded Astronautin GmbH in April 2017 to ensure the female future of (traditionally “manned”) astronautical space travel. Claudia Kessler has a clear goal: to get the first German woman into space by 2021. The new female astronaut will become an inspiration to encourage young women into technology professions.

With Astronautin GmbH, Claudia is one of the few female founders in the high-tech industry to create a space start-up that makes engaging in space activities accessible to everyone. Astronautin GmbH makes it possible to transfer space experiences into everyday life on Earth. From space events to astronaut training and analogue missions, parabolic flights plus suborbital flights, all the way through to astronaut space missions, every space experience is offered by Astronautin GmbH.

Claudia Kessler’s goal is not only to bring the first German woman into space, but above all to make women stronger in order to help position them at the top of society and the working economy. She inspires audiences in empowerment workshops with elements from astronaut training, personal coaching, and inspirational public speaking.

Being one of the few female executives in space, Claudia is constantly working to ensure more participation, because women attract women! She also promotes the international careers of female specialists and managers in the Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-E) network, which she founded across Europe in 2009. The network today has more than 500 members across 12 European countries. In addition, she is one of the few women to be a member of the Senate of the German Aerospace Society (DGLR) and the International Aeronautical Academy (IAA).

As CEO of HE Space from 2004 to 2018, a personnel service provider specializing in space professionals, Claudia achieved a 55% representation of women among her 200 technical employees. The Family-Friendly certificate, the Diversity Charter, and the Diversity Personality of the Year 2016 awards are just a few examples of the results of her numerous campaigns to improve the position of women in technical professions who are also balancing work and family.

Claudia Kessler is a qualified aerospace engineer, is the holder of an MBA, and has more than 30 years of experience in the international space industry.

Situation/Introduction

Astronauts are per definition very courageous and curious – which for me goes always hand in hand! They want to understand what is out there. They feel very much part of the universe and not only as a citizen of a country, a continent, but of a planet!

As an astronaut you will choose your own guiding star, work to reach it, and never lose sight of it.

Successful astronauts also need to be able to show cultural competency (recognizing that everyone’s contribution has value, no matter how unfamiliar), good self-care and team-care, and excellent communication skills in variety of situations.”

Exploring new opportunities to keep growing within our community in times of covid-19 we invite you to join us to our new „Virtual Morning Session“ series.

Many executives are wondering how they can design an appropriate year review and closing in 2020. A special year like 2020 requires a special kind of annual review to celebrate the new experiences we have shared.

The classic Christmas Celebration will probably not take place this year.

At the same time we all dream of it: once again informal contact and exchange with colleagues – after months of work at a distance.

Join this open morning session and brainstorm together!

About the Speaker

Begonia Merayo, net4tec Co-Founder & MD, AND Julia Baumanns, net4tec Business Partner are the NET4TEC partner in crime. Together with the ambassadors they rock the community, shape the program and develop the different propositions creating real value for your career.

Julia Baumanns, a young female leader has stepped up in her career and took over her first role as people manager in Microsoft.

As Technical Delivery Manager for Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) she leads a team of 25 technical consultants. Her European team is highly experienced in the field of Modern Work, which includes technologies like Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, O365, Security and Identity.

Prior to this, she was responsible as account manager for Microsoft and Oracle providing latest technologies to her customers in Switzerland and Germany. As certified leadership coach she incorporates the leadership values of model, coach and care and brings it to practice every day.

In addition to her work with Microsoft, she is engaged as business partner at net4tec.

net4tec is a global feMale career network for women in STEM and digital business. Together with her co-founder Begonia Merayo they have a team of 15 ambassadors across Germany and Ireland, who support with local as well as strategic initiatives. Covid-19 has not only been challenging but provided new opportunities for net4tec. The team has established a regular bi-weekly exchange, “virtual morning session” that allows their community across Europe to exchange and learn about certain topics.

They have developed a learning program “Entre Nous” for true female leaders, with a launch in October 2020. Together with net4tec, the concept of a diversity hackathon was born. The Business Creathon is a 1.5 day hackathon with the purpose to make diversity profitable and drive innovation in companies. The aim for net4tec is to support female careers throughout their different life stages and with a sustainable way. A combination with different offers for their members at net4tec that deal with the head, hand and heart.
