Sexism and Microaggressions at work
Cécile graduated in Geomatics at the University of Liège in Belgium in 2015. She worked as a researcher on satellite-based positioning at the University of Liège for four years and since 2020, she has been working at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) in Munich on the design of the next generation of satellites for positioning.
In 2021, she participated in the creation of the women scientists’ network in her Institute, and in 2022, she launched a DLR-wide women scientists’ network (>400 networkers). In these groups, she advocates for improving the work culture in STEM fields in order to make it more attractive to women. She also advocates for the visibility of women experts as coordinator of the working group on this topic for Women in Aerospace – Europe. Additionally, she leads the Belgian branch of PĂ©pite Sexiste, a feminist association calling out brands making use of sexist advertisement.
Since 2023, she has been regularly engaged as a public speaker on the topics of sexism in STEM, microaggressions, unconscious biases, and casual sexism.
