Working in a job that really suits me but also challenges my skills. These challenges force me to leave my comfort zone, which allows me to grow and develop in the end. In my case this is a combination of different aspects like technical challenges, improving how the team works together, and empowering people.

I got a really good tip for the career path. Once you find out what thrives you, you don’t need to realize all aspects of it in your professional career. You could also look, for example, for an honorary position to fulfill one or more aspects.

People that empower other people. There’s nothing more inspiring than a person who supports others to get out the best in themselves and even develop further. If you are working together in a team, there is a completely different spirit behind the whole workflow and you can feel and see personal developments and much faster progress on the task.

We founded a new team working on a prospective topic during a company-wide restructuring process. On the one hand, we had to figure out how we could work best together as a team, which is a challenge on its own if people come together with different characters and working styles, who have never worked together before. Additionally, we had to justify why the prospective topic is important and that it fits the business unit’s goals.
What I learned in this situation is that change is not happening overnight. I think the most cited quote from 2020 holds here as well: ‘It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon’. I don’t know if this situation could already be declared as solved, but what helped was constantly standing up for my ideas or even pushing for the ideas. Furthermore, even if you have bulletproof arguments, you need to fully convince people of your ideas, explain to them in an easily understandable way why your idea is needed in this business.

Honestly, I can’t remember. I probably forgot it the second I heard it.

Since there are only a few women in the tech industry, networks give me the chance to connect and exchange with other women. I do appreciate the exchange with male colleagues, but sometimes it is something different to talk to other women.

Probably not only women: if you don’t understand something, be bold, stand up and ask for clarification. These are the questions which bring us further.

I am passionate about technical challenges, in particular those which haven’t yet been solved. It is about the technical realization and also how we can solve the challenge as a team or company.
